Treatment overview
Brow lifting surgery is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, depending on your preference and overall health. The operation takes approximately one to two hours, and you can return home the same day.
During your brow lift procedure, your surgeon will make several small cuts in your scalp, allowing the insertion of an endoscope and other small surgical instruments. Next, they will lift your forehead skin, while removing excess muscle, fat, and skin to give your brow a younger-looking appeal. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Leonard Lu may use temporary sutures or screws to keep the muscle and skin in place throughout the healing process.
Lastly, Dr. Lu will close the incisions and fit a bandage around your head. You can expect to have stitches or staples removed within a week, and screws removed in two weeks.
