How it Works
The Consultation
At RL Center for Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa, each initial patient consultation is different.
Depending on your needs, desired treatments, areas of concern, and simply who you are as a patient, we will schedule you with an actual treatment provider to discuss your goals, budget, and more. During this appointment, we will go through before & after photos, your medical history, and any questions you might have. Only then can we make a recommendation for which procedures or treatments may be right for you and why. We will be sure to educate you on how the treatments work, including what to expect during and afterward.
A typical consultation lasts about 40 minutes and is free of charge for all aesthetic treatments, including chemical peels. At the end of your consultation, you will leave our office in Vernon Hills with a thorough, personalized treatment plan. And when you’re ready, we’ll schedule your first treatment session.
Your Chemical Peel Treatment
As with any treatment at RL Center for Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa, we will ensure your total comfort in a clean, comfortable, and private treatment room.
After a thorough cleaning of the skin, your aesthetician will apply one or multiple chemical solutions to your skin. During this time you may feel a burning or stinging sensation, but this is only temporary.
During your treatment, the solutions will be removing cells from your skin at either a superficial, moderately deep, or deep level. Deeper peels create more dramatic results but will have longer recovery times. During this time, you’re welcome to relax or listen to music.
The Recovery
Recovery is dependent on how deep of a chemical peel was received.
The deeper the peel, the longer the recovery time. Regardless, you will likely experience redness and swelling at the area of treatment. Recovery time for a lighter peel will be about three to seven days, and you are free to put on makeup the next day after treatment.
